He was admitted to hospital as he was experiencing cough and chest pain. Later, diagnosed with a severe pulmonary fungal infection.
Doctors said this happened, as he sniffed socks and this infection was a result of his sniffing his socks habit. This was a toxic mistake for him. He developed the infection which was somehow a result of him inhaling spores of a fungus which usually grows in footwear.
Doctors believe that due to this habit, along with a weak immune system caused by stress, contributed to the infection’s spread.
He didn’t typically get enough sleep. His home life was also stressful as he was also raising a child, so that didn’t help his immune system either.
News of his case exploded on Weibo, featuring a hashtag “Lung infection caused by sniffing of smelly socks” gaining about 65 million views from Friday.
Weibo is a social network which is providing the Chinese microblogging website Sina Weibo, based in Beijing, China.
People with weak immune system need to be more careful. Anyone having a serious illness, like cancer or HIV, need to really careful about catching the infections. If this is the case then Smelling socks is a huge risk, could be lethal for your health.

Is it a good idea to sniff smelly socks? Probably no. There is not much harm for people with a good immune system. Most of us didn’t know that fungus could be inhaled into the lungs, we better be a little cautious about it.
