Japanese tech startup Groove X unveiled its first creation, a robot pet equipped with artificial intelligence on Tuesday. Designed to communicate with people and to make their users happy by doing so. It markets itself as a companion robot.
It can sense people’s emotions and communicate with them.

A robot named as “Lovot” is priced at 598,000 yen which is around $5300, along with a monthly service fee of around 20,000 yen, will be shipped in autumn 2019 as a set of two. If you want a single Lovot, then it will be available in 2020 having a price tag of 349,000 yen along with a monthly subscription fee of 10,000 yen.
Description
This robot named Lovot is named by the combination of two words “love” and “robot”. According to Groove X, it is designed to be a “new home robot that stirs your instinct to love”.
Lovot weighs 3 Kg and is about 43 cm tall. It has an inbuilt camera. It learns the layout of the house, so it avoids getting damaged by crashing into furniture.
Features & Uses
For users who show kindness to it, it starts to become warm by the touch and when it is cuddled it goes to sleep, as it’s designed it mimic affection.
It comes with a mobile app using which users can access the inbuilt camera inside these AI robots.
GROOVE X wants to become one of the reasons for Japan to regain its health and was founded in 2015 by Kaname Hayashi.
It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to interact with its surroundings, this robot resembles a penguin, it also has interchangeable outfits and talks in squeaks.
